Our meet this Saturday is against the Cypresswood Sharks!  We are excited for our first dual meet of the season!!

Here is a timeline:

7:00 - 7:20am - Check-in

7:45 - 8:15am - Warmups

8:15 - Team Meeting / Line up for first events

 

Please continue to read for important information about the event:

1 - Where is the meet & where do we set up?

From the home page, click "Swim Meets" then click on "Cypresswood."  One of the items you will see is "get driving directions". This will bring up a Yahoo Map with directions to that pool from Forestgate.  You can type in your address to get specific directions.  

**Please Note** The Woodlands is hosting the Ironman Triathlon on Saturday.  There may be some traffic delays during your commute, so please check out this link:   ironmantexas.com/course/traffic-impact/   for info on the traffic delays.  Please allow for alternate routes or additional time to get to check-in on time!!

Below is information about set-up and parking from Cypresswood:

"We set up the visitors in the playground area outside of the pavillion. We generally want the playground (which is quite nice) to be off limits during the meet because we don't anyone getting hurt. You can drop off stuff at the entrance to the Clubhouse parking lot. Parking by the pavillion is restricted because we don't want kids and cars mixing. There is ample parking along Cypresswood Drive (even for your massive team) as well as nearby side streets, plus some parking at the clubhouse east of the pavillion toward Ella Blvd."

Heat sheets will be available for purchase (I think they are $3) and there will be concessions.

2 - What time is Check-In? 

 

Because this is an AWAY meet, check-in time is 7:00am - 7:20am.  PLEASE PLEASE allow enough time to get your swimmer to the pool for on-time check-in.  It is critical we have all of our swimmers checked in on time so coaches can make any adjustments needed and computer clerks can edit and print the reports needed to run the meet.

 

3- What about Relays?

You can check the WHITE BINDER at practice today to see if your child will be swimming in a relay.  Coaches carefully build these relay teams.   If you are part of a relay, WE NEED YOU!!!  We MUST know TODAY if you can't commit to being at the meet and staying for all relay events.   The other three swimmers on that relay are counting on you!!  A no-show during check-in will result in being SCRATCHED from the relay.  

**In addition** - please check the relay board after warm-ups but BEFORE the meet starts.  Sometimes we have scratches and make substitutions.  You will want to see if you have been moved or added to a relay event.

4 - Volunteer!!  

We still need age group parents (specifically for the 11-12 age groups), timers, scribes, and tent set-up.  Any and ALL help is SOOO appreciated!!  Sign up online.
