Seed Times vs. Final Times - Swimmer Eligibility

RE: Seed Times vs. Final Times for Eligibility (Divisionals & Invitationals)

Now that we have our first dual meet under our belts I would like to provide a few key rules everyone should be aware of regarding eligibility for divisionals and invitationals.

    DIVISIONALS:

Swimmers must have taken part in at least two (2) dual meets (not including Time Trials); all times used for entries must have been swum in a dual meet.  Disqualifications “DQ” do not count as an official time.

    INVITATIONALS:

In a swimming competition, your seed time is used to match you with others of similar times and abilities. As you probably noticed we start out the season using the times from “TIME TRIALS”. Throughout the season your “OFFICIAL TIMES” will replace your time trials times, if applicable.  When entering into an invitational meet the seed times have to be “OFFICIAL TIMES”, not “TIME TRIALS” times.

HOW TO FIND IF SWIMMER IS ELIGIBLE:

The Meet Results Report is posted on the website & in the results binder after each dual meet.  The invitational meet abbreviations will be tagged after the swimmers “OFFICIAL TIME” to let you know.

    Invitational Meet Abbreviations/Tags:

    POND – Ponderosa

    GOLD – Trinity Gold

    SLVR – Trinity Silver

    ** Special Note:

In the results binder only, I run a Meet Summary report by swimmer in order to make being proud of your child that much easier.  Unfortunately the report tags the seed time with one of the above abbreviations as well as the results (OFFICIAL) time, if eligible. Please note, some seed times will be “TIME TRIAL” times. So please, NEVER reference the seed time when checking eligibility.
