We are getting close to the Divisionals meet!!  The meet will be run DIFFERENTLY than in the past, so even if you've been with the WAVES for a long time, please read below for information.  

What is Divisionals?  Divisionals is the "Championship" meet where all 5 teams in our division swim against each other in 1 large meet.

Are there prerequisites for swimming in Divisionals?  Yes.  1) The swimmer must have participated in at least 2 of the scheduled NWAL meets during the current season (Time Trials & Invitationals do NOT count).  2)  The swimmer must have an "offical time" (not a seed time from Time Trials) for each stroke entered in the meet.

When? Saturday, June 23

Where?  Klein Forest High School (click on Swim Meets/Divisionals/Driving Directions for a yahoo map)

What time?  THIS IS THE BIG CHANGE!!!  This divisional meet will be run in TWO SESSIONS.  The FIRST SESSION is for 10 & U swimmers and will start at 8:30am (check in 7-7:20am).  The SECOND SESSION is for 11 & U swimmers and will begin at 1:30pm (check-in 12noon-12:20pm).  

How do I sign up?  Sign ups are online as usual (3 individual events) - please do it NOW!!!  We won't have as much wiggle room for late entries so if you forget to sign up by this Sunday's deadline it will be harder to get you in the meet.  Also important - if you are signed up for the meet, the whole team and the coaches are counting on you to stay for the entire meet and be available for relays.  Divisionals is a long meet so please plan accordingly!!  WE NEED YOU!!!!!!!

Can I volunteer??  ABSOLUTELY!!  As you already know, our kids are counting on us to help run a smooth meet.  We have several needs for volunteers during BOTH sessions.  We will get an email out shortly with volunteer opportunities and enable an online signup.  Mary-Brooke is coordinating Volunteers and would be SOOOO happy to have you tell her what you can do rather than have to run around looking for people to fill the spots.  Waves families are the BEST!

Where will our team setup be?  We are still looking into where our team will set up for this meet.  Keep your eye out for an email with these details.....

When is the celebration?  Our big end-of-year party will be on Monday, June 25th at Rob Fleming Aquatic center.  The whole family is invited!  We will celebrate jointly with our Hurricanes and Riptides friends.  Can't wait!!!
