Hello Waves families.  Can you believe it is time to start thinking about summer league all ready?  We have so many changes for our team this season we are looking forward to diving right in (pun intended).  You will begin to get emails and updates more regularly as sign ups and the season draw closer.

 

First, as most of you know, our fearless leader, Kristine Marlow, has stepped down as lead parent and Janet Beckman and I are now your Waves representatives.  We are excited about this venture and have made some changes that we can't wait to share with you.  We will discuss these as the season gets closer.  In the mean time if you need anything, please don't hesitate to contact either of us.

 

Second, if you are planning to return to the Waves, registration begins February 3!  Open registration for new families begins February 17th.  Please remember if you have an outstanding fine from last season, you will need to pay that first, before you will be allowed to register your swimmer(s).  You can register by phone or in person at the Woodlands Township Recreation Center at 5310 Research Forest Drive.  You may not register on line.  If you are not sure if you have a fine you can contact the Rec Center at 281-210-3950.

Next, this year's kick off party with the Hurricanes and Riptides will be Sunday April 6th, 1:00-4:00pm at the Rob Flemming Aquatic Center.  This is a lot of fun and a great way to reconnect with our summer family.  If you would like to help out with this event, please contact myself or Janet.  Rain out date is April 27th. 

Last, is our most exciting news.  We have a new head coach for our 2014 season.  Janet and I could not be more thrilled to announce Jessie McBroom as our new head coach.  She comes highly recommended and is a wonderful addition to our family.  We know you are going to be just as excited to have her and welcome her to our team as we are.  In addition, our wonderful Coach Lindsay Tyrrell is returning as assistant head coach!  There are lots of changes going on and we are looking forward to seeing you all very soon!  Practices begin April 29th!
