Hello Waves swimmers and families!  Can you believe our season starts next week?  We are so excited to see familiar faces and to meet all our new swimmers and families.  This email contains quite a bit of information so please read through thoroughly and save so you can refer to it in the days and weeks ahead! 

 

SATURDAY APRIL 25TH 4:00-7:00 PM FIRST ANNUAL WAVES MEET AND GREET

This Saturday will be our meet and greet at our home pool, Forestgate.  Our new head coach, Jeff Spoon, will be out to answer questions and meet you all.  We, along with our Volunteer Coordinator, Nicole Gauthier, will be there to answer questions or help you in any way we can.  We will hold a brief informational meeting around 5:30.  We will cover items for new families and explain a few changes for our time trial and the first meet.  Spirit Wear will be on sale from 4:30-6:30 and you can also pick up your Township Waves T-shirts.  Volunteer sign ups for the season will go live Saturday night, but will be available on first come first serve basis starting at 4:00 on Saturday.  We will also have handouts and information you can take with you. Please remember to brink snacks and drinks for your family along with your suits and towels because the pool WILL BE OPEN!  This is very informal, so feel free to come and go.  We are really looking forward to Saturday!  If you are interested in helping us in a few key areas on Saturday please let us know ASAP! 

 

SUNDAY APRIL 26TH 1:00-3:00 PM KICK OFF PARTY

This Sunday is the annual kick off party at Rob Fleming Park for all three Woodlands Swim Teams.   This is a fun day for the family with several vendors on hand to help assist you.  Bring your suits because there will be a foam pit that is always a lot of fun!  T-shirts not picked up at the meet and greet will be on hand to pick up. 

 

TUESDAY APRIL 28TH FIRST DAY OF PRACTICE

Posting of times and age groups can be found on this site, the Township web page, along with our Facebook fan page.  Please remember the pool is closed on Mondays.  We look forward to starting with our 6 and unders at 4:15 on the 28th!  More information on the first week of practice will follow in a separate email.

 

SPIRIT WEAR - ALL ORDERS DUE WEDNESDAY APRIL 29TH.

Please order your spirit wear now as there will only be one order.  All orders are due April 29th by 8:30pm.  No exceptions.  Checks only please, made out to The Woodlands Township.  If you have any questions regarding spirit wear, please see  Stevi Venable at [email protected].

 

FRIDAY MAY 8TH - INDIVIDUAL PICTURES

Individual pictures will be taken on May 8th.  Siblings can choose to pose together or seperatley.  Forms will be available at the meet and greet, the first week of practice and May 8th. 

 

SATURDAY MAY 9TH - TIME TRIALS AND TEAM PHOTO

We will take our team photo before time trials.   You do not need to register for Time Trials, we have already registered each swimmer.  If you are not able to make it to time trials, your swimmer's time will be entered manually after time trials is completed. Their time will be the taken from the slowest time recorded for that event.   THERE WILL BE NO MAKE UPS. NO EXCEPTIONS. We will explain this in greater detail at our meet and greet and in a following email.
