IMPORTANT TIME TRIAL INFORMATION
Good afternoon Waves swimmers and families. Please read the following information regarding time trials and the first dual meet next Saturday May 13th. There is a lot of information so be sure to read this email carefully! If you still have questions please feel free to contact me.
THURSDAY NIGHT:
Please review your swimmers entries tonight at the pool (on the white table in front of the record board) and initial. If you made changes after 5pm yesterday they have not been updated. If you need to add or delete anything this will have to be done the morning of time trials. Please take time to review your entries every week.
FRIDAY:
Friday evening swimmers will be practicing and preparing for time trials. We will also introduce/review the relay process. We would like to have 6 and under age group parents (if available) to help out at practice with relays. Coach Lindsay will be able to explain more about this. Please do not enter the deck area until the coaches are ready to practice relays!
Age group parents/Ready Bench:.
We will also hold two age group meetings one at 5:15 and one at 6:15. If you are new to age group parent this is important! You may attend either meeting they should last about 10 minutes. We will review ready bench procedures about 6:30 so if you are new to this or a veteran that needs brush up, please attend this!
Set Up:
Friday nights before meets we set up the pool area. We have several tents we will need popped up, chairs set out trash receptacles lined, and areas roped off. We also will need signs hung as well as banners and as well as our flag. PLEASE DO NOT ROPE OFF AREAS WITHOUT INSTRUCTION. THE AREAS NEED TO BE ACCESSIBLE FOR SWIMMERS AND OFFICIALS. Set up does not take long and it is a good way to meet other members of our team!
Relays:
Relays will not be posted or available to view until tomorrow's practice. Lindsay is currently finalizing these. We do our best to rotate C relays so that all swimmers can hopefully experience a relay
SATURDAY
When?
Saturday swimmers need to check in between 6:45 - 7:15. DO NOT BE LATE TO CHECK IN. You will check in first with Coach Lindsay and Coach Stephen. AFTER you have checked in with your coaches go see your lead parent under the pavilion to get your events. Older swimmers (13 and up) you will need to check in with coaches and your age group parent will have your events - you are responsible for writing them on your arm or remembering your events. Relays will be posted with any changes after scratches at record boards. If you cannot stay for a relay please notify your age group parent BEFORE the meet. If you are volunteering as a timer or scribe please check in with our head timers Jimena and Ruth. There will be a timer / scribe meeting before the meet, this will be announced. Runners and computer people, please check in with Heather Monroe. All other volunteers please check in with Angie DeMarco. If you are volunteering Saturday give yourself enough time to set up, and get your swimmer and yourself checked in. Officials Glenn will have a meeting for you all prior to the meet.
What to bring?
Chairs, water bottle, towel, sunscreen, a great attitude! Wear a one piece suit of course and don't forget your swim cap. You can purchase WAVES swim caps for $10 at the pool. Please have exact $. Chickfila will have concessions available as well as Orange Leaf. Orange Leaf will be $5. Please try to bring exact change for Orange Leaf they will not be able to make change -this is a fundraiser for our team ($2 will go to the team) . Please stay until the end of the meet to support all of our swimmers the relays at the end are the most exciting and its BOYS VS GIRLS! Please clean up your area and don't leave behind anything and if you can stay and help clean up the meet area we would sure appreciate it. We do like to meet in our pavilion after meets and enjoy adult beverages. If you finish with clean up and stick around long enough you may even be able to leave with your swimmer's ribbons instead of waiting for Tuesday.
Times Results:
All results will be posted at the end of the meet. Those not attending time trials will not be able to register for the first dual meet until NT are replaced with times assigned after time trials are completed. We hope to have these completed Sunday evening. Registration for all meets will be midnight Tuesday night. If you have problems please let me know.
Last few notes:
Thanks to all of you for brining your kids to swim every day! It's going to be a great time trials! We are set to start at 8:30 - but may start a little earlier. Looks like a cool morning so be sure to be ready for that. If you are a 6 and under age group parent - PLEASE STAY WITH SIX AND UNDER SWIMMERS FOR WARM UPS TO HELP THEM! It can be a bit chaotic at first. Saturday is also CB&I so plan accordingly. You should be able to get to the pool just check your routes ( there will be a link sent via Remind101) the race will be over before time trials is, so should be no problem getting home!
See you at the Pool
Heather Monroe
