PLEASE READ IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL WAVES
Good morning again Waves families. Below are a few important notes and remiders. I have tried to be brief, although there is quite a bit to cover. I know it is a busy time of year for all ( I am a mother of 3 myself) however, please take the time to read this email thoroughly. I appreciate your time in advance~!
Waves if you have not signed up for Remind 101 updates please do so ASAP. We send out helpful reminders and updates daily. If you have signed up in years' past, you will need to rejoin the group every year. Please do this today, we do not want you to miss out. Here is the link https://www.remind.com/join/waves201
LATE ENTRIES: (AFTER TUESDAY)
A few of you "registered" your swimmers last night as it appeared the meet was open. Meet deadlines are always TUESDAYS AT MIDNIGHT. If you registered your swimmer after Tuesday at midnight your swimmers registration may not have counted. The meet was open for a brief time yesterday to allow for relay changes and modifications as well as meet updates. THIS WILL NOT CONFIRM YOUR SWIMMER'S ENTRIES. If you did register yesterday at any time you need to -
1.) need to confirm their entry online or in the binder.
2) will not be in A or B relays as these relays are made from those swimmers who make entry deadlines.
If you have spoken with me regarding your swimmers late entries or changes, your entries have been approved. If you have any questions or concerns please reply to this email. If you are worried about future meets, I encourage you to register now.
QUESTIONS REGARDING A SWIM AT THE MEET
As the season goes on, you may have a question regarding a DQ call or a finish or a time. I ensure you we have a checks and balance system in place with officials from both teams as well as our computer entries and verifiers. If you have a question regarding your swimmers event or a possible DQ,you must address your question before the end of the meet. The only person you can address this with is me, your team rep, according to NWAL. You MAY NOT approach an official or the computer area. If you have a question regarding a call, please find me as soon as possible so I can help you. You may not ask to see a scribe sheet without your team rep present. You may ONLY ask questions regarding your swimmers. DO NOT ask about another swimmers events. Videos cannot be used to overturn a DQ. You are welcome to show coaches the videos if you have a question, but these will not be used to overturn DQs. These are NWAL rules! Please be considerate of these.
RIBBONS
We do our best to get ribbons from each meet to the pool by Tuesday. Please be patient - your ribbons will get there. Can't help if we have such fast swimmers with SO MANY RIBBONS!
CHECK IN/RELAY CHANGES AND COACHES VISITS
Please be sure to check in with your coaches ( usually Lindsay) as soon as you arrive so you are not scratched from the meet! After that stop by your age group parent to confirm your events. If you need events written down, they can help you, if not just let them know you have arrived and you know your events for the day.
Right after the meet starts, please check for any relay changes to the morning relays. Age group parents, we ask that you help notify and find swimmers for these events. If you are at the meet but are not going to stay for free relays, YOU MUST WRITE YOUR NAME IN THE BINDER ON THE NO RELAY SHEET. Please keep in mind this is a team sport and relays are huge point earners for our team!!!
After your swimmers swim - please encourage them to go meet with the coaches! They can get some great feed back this way!
VOLUNTEERING
If you do not check in with Angie (or the head timers at home meets) you may not be counted for your volunteer time. If you cannot make a shift you signed up for please remove your name as soon as possible. If it is the night before a meet, please let Angie know so we can find a replacement. Angie is keeping track of all of our 160 plus families ( I mean we can we give her a big - YOU GO GIRL) and their volunteer credits. As soon as you have completed your 4 credits, Angie will start the process to get your volunteer refund.
PARKING FOR HOME MEETS
Starting next week you will need a 2017 approved Volunteer Waves parking pass to park in the lot. Please DO NOT park in places reserved with cones. These spaces are reserved for Chic-Fil-A, Orange Leaf, opposing teams and Township vehicles. Even if you arrive early, you will not be allowed in this lot without a pass- the sheriffs on duty will ask you to move your car. Your family may still unload your items inside the lot, but do not park to unload!
That's it for now. Thanks again for all that you do for this team. It is a short season with a sharp learning curve! We couldn't do it without you!!!
